Ryan Blaney opted to start his 2010 season with an appearance at Speedfest at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia this past weekend.  After wet weather and cold temperatures plagued the 3/8 mile track on Saturday, both the regularly scheduled practice and qualifying were pushed to Sunday where CRA Super Late Models were only allowed a few laps of practice before being let loose in qualifying.

Blaney qualified 12th and drove a hard race to advance one spot to finish in the 11th position.

“We had a pretty good car,” said Blaney.  “And we had just gotten to third there at the end there and I screwed up and spun out.”

“We were strong and had high hopes,” explained Blaney.  “But at the end of the race I screwed it up.”

The young driver’s next race will the first PASS South Super Late Model race of the season at Dillon Motor Speedway, in Dillon, South Carolina on March 13th.

“We raced there last year and did a good job,” commented Blaney.  “We finished third then and I’m looking forward to doing well there again this year.”
