After Ryan Blaney won his first career PASS South race recently at Dillon Motor Speedway (SC), the 16-year-old driver didn't want to just rest on his laurels.  Instead, the taste of victory just made him hungrier to win again.  However during Saturday's Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC), Blaney would just have to settle for battling for the lead and finishing third on the podium - after a race full of close battles between himself, Jay Fogelman and eventual winner Preston Peltier.

“It just wasn't our night,” said Blaney.  “It was a really good battle.  Jay's a good guy and I just kind of gave it away.”

Blaney did learn some useful lessons from his race though - especially after Peltier made a pass on both Blaney and Fogelman on the race's final restart.

“I should've been smarter,” said Blaney.  “I should've jumped up to the outside before Preston got there.  I didn't think fast enough.  He deserved that one.”

Blaney plans to contest the entire 2010 PASS South Series schedule, so starting out the points season with a victory at Dillon and a podium finish at Hickory makes for a good start to their year.

“We're just looking for a little bit more and to keep getting top threes and top fives every race.”
Blaney's next scheduled PASS South event will be on April 24th at Orange County Speedway (NC).
