Ryan Blaney Suffers an Off Night at Gresham
High Speed Chess Does Not Play Well for Blaney
When a driver has an off night in the world of racing, it’s best for both driver and team to find the silver lining and focus on a positive.  Ryan Blaney left Gresham Motorsports Park (GA) with that in mind Saturday, as his chief rival for the 2011 PASS South Super Late Model championship, Jay Fogleman, did not have much of a better run than he did.  Blaney trailed by 12 markers coming in the 100-lap feature at GMP and left knowing he only lost a few points after finishing an uncharacteristic 13th.
"We knew going down there that we didn't have a motor built for that high speed track," said Blaney.  "We have been in the top five there with another series, but we were just way too tight and we lost a lap and knocked the toe out.  It was a long night for us."

Blaney ended up one lap of the pace as the front runners put a hurting on the field with such a fast pace.  Nevertheless, Blaney will have a few weeks  off before the next PASS race, but he will run Both ARCA and CRA before then.

"We are going to Lucas Oil Raceway Park (IN) to run the ARCA race and then we will be at Anderson on Monday for the Redbud 300," said Blaney.  "I think we will be real good at Lucas Oil as we tested with Venturini Motorsports and we were very good.  We could have won at Winchester."

Anderson will be a new venue for the teenage driver.  Blaney has never been there, but the history with the Redbud and the old Anderson 400 makes it a career mark to compete in the race that Monday.

"I have never been there, but I have heard great things and we are looking forward to it," said Blaney.
"We know we have a good Late Model program so we are looking forward to it."

The ARCA race at Lucas Oil Speedway will be on Thursday, July 28th and the Redbud 300 will be on Monday, August 1st on the high banks of Anderson Speedway (IN).
